The Shine Iberia (A Banijay Company) programme for Mediaset España, which gives a voice to people with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), continues to win awards for its social impact and originality, consolidating its position as a benchmark in inclusion and diversity.
Last Tuesday, January 21st, the winners of the second edition of the Rose D’or Latinos awards were announced in Miami at the gala held within the framework of Content Americas. The format ‘100% Únicos’ triumphed by receiving the award for best factual.
The success of 100% ÚNICOS lies in its ability to generate authentic and emotional conversations, giving prominence to a sector of the population that faces daily challenges such as misunderstanding or social exclusion. Guests such as Antonio Banderas, Rozalén and Dabid Muñoz have experienced being interviewed by people with ASD, living a special encounter in which they opened up completely.
With more than 450,000 people with ASD in Spain, the programme has not only surprised its viewers, but also contributes to the desire for a paradigm shift in the perception of autism. People with ASD seek inclusion in the work and school environment. They create their own families, vote and are part of society in the same way as neurotypical people. 100% UNIQUE shows us that inclusion in television can be innovative, educational and deeply human.
An award-winning format for its commitment to inclusion
In addition to the prestigious award received in Miami at the ‘Rose D’or Latinos’, ‘100% Únicos’ has been recognised during 2024 with important awards in Spain such as the AMIAB Award for social inclusion (highlighting its role in the visibility of diverse abilities), the FAAM XXI de Oro award for its work in the media (recognising its sincere and unfiltered approach to the reality of people with ASD) and the award for ‘Initiative, Project or Practice’ at the Gesto Awards, highlighting its quality and impact on the representation of disability.
