‘MasterChef Junior 7’ crowned Lu as the new winner with 1,655,000 spectators (12.5%). She is a perfectionist, hardworking and a very good companion and discovered her passion for cooking thanks to her grandmother Manoli. In the final, she won the jury and chef Martín Berasategui (twelve Michelin stars) in which she competed with María, Albert and Leo: they all demonstrated their gift, although finally the 11-year-old catalan contestant became the winner of the talent culinary, produced by RTVE in collaboration with Shine Iberia.

Lu spoke with the media, accompanied by Marta Verona, winner of ‘MasterChef 6’, for who “Lu is a deserved winner. She is humble, hardworking, constant. And if something teaches ‘MasterChef’, it’s that the effort has a reward” Marta concluded. The winner of the seventh edition of the Junior has explained how she was inspired to prepare her final menu: “I was inspired by the galet, which is a typical dish of my region.”

About her partners, she says that “María is one of my best friends in the program and sharing a duel with her was super cool”. As a result of this edition, Lu remember the outdoor test with Rafa Nadal, “because I think he is a very nice person, he is the best tennis player and did not expect to see him.” And, looking ahead, “I would like to study medicine, and have cooking as a hobby.”

With a menu worthy of a grand finale, which reinterpreted traditional flavors of his region, she won the trophy, 12,000 euros for his training and a four-day course at the Basque Culinary Center to develop her culinary skills. “I am super happy and I will never forget it. All the effort has been worth it and now is my time to enjoy it” said an excited Lu after knowing she was getting the desired reward.

On more than one occasion Jordi Cruz stressed that she has “the balance between being humble, being hardworking and being organized,” comparing her sportsman and fighter spirit with Rafa Nadal.

During the final, María and Lu surprised both the jury and Martín Berasategui with their attitude and their way of working. “Week by week you have absorbed everything we have taught you. You have been able to incorporate in the final menu the cutting edge techniques that you have learned, without sacrificing the flavor of your elaborations. We have loved your menus, because they reflect your way of being and your roots. In addition, you have executed it with mastery”, explained the jury.

Lu opened their appetites with a sea galet accompanied by a red cream of red prawns and payoyo cheese spheres. She continued with a cod with black garlic ‘ali oli’, candied potatoes and a spaghetti of broth and squid ink. To close the menu she made a vanilla cream with licorice cake, hazelnut praline ice cream, muscovado sugar and a touch of caramel crunchy, with which she updated the catalan cream and dedicated to her father.

María was in a second place with a menu dedicated to her loved ones. As a starter, she cooked a red prawn carpaccio with american sauce spheres, crispy ones made with part of the red prawn’s head, an avocado cream and a lime air, an “incredible” dish made with her favorite ingredients. The main one was a tail of stewed and crumbled bull, with candied potatoes and glazed charlottes, which she dedicated first to herself and, later, to her family and her great grandmother, who would have liked to know because they looked so much alike. Finally, she presented her dessert: ‘Burbuja maruja’, dedicated to her group of friends. The dish was composed of sauteed strawberries, a banana siphon cake and a strawberry and mascarpone ice cream, topped with some isomalt threads.
