A decade after the premiere of its first edition, ‘MasterChef Celebrity’ is celebrating with a unique and legendary season. Produced by RTVE in collaboration with Shine Iberia (Banijay Iberia), ‘MasterChef Celebrity Legends’ will bring together 15 contestants from different editions who, although they did not win, have been invited back by the judges to take on the challenge once again and be given a second chance to claim the trophy.
In the first edition, bullfighter Manuel Díaz ‘El Cordobés’ took part; the second featured comedian and actor Edu Soto, model Juan Betancourt, actress and singer Bibiana Fernández, and actress and comedian Anabel Alonso (who returned in the fourth season); and the third included filmmaker Santiago Segura and actress Paz Vega (who faced Ona Carbonell in a duel). Actor Juanjo Ballesta and comedian Florentino Fernández competed in the fifth season; singer David Bustamante was a finalist in the sixth edition; and the seventh featured singer-songwriter Ruth Lorenzo and fashion designer María Escoté (a finalist). In the ninth season, businessman José María Martínez-Bordiu (Pocholo) and TikToker and influencer Marina Rivers coincided (she dueled against Inés Hernand). Rap singer Mala Rodríguez took part in the tenth season.
Today marks the start of filming for ‘MasterChef Celebrity Legends’, and the judges are eager to taste the new creations from contestants who, in their previous appearances, left them wanting more. Have they stepped back into a kitchen? Have they refined their culinary techniques? Will their previous experience have helped them? The judges will put these stars through all kinds of gastronomic challenges, and the level of demand will be extremely high, as they have already been part of the show and the very best is now expected from them.
