After nine years, ‘MasterChef Junior’ is a Christmas classic on RTVE. In the new edition, Rubén, Ariel, Carla, Isabel, Pablo, Sara, Abril, Olivia, Alexia, Marcos, Guillem and Gonzalo will fight from next Monday to succeed Aurora and be crowned the winner of ‘MasterChef Junior 9’.
The new hopefuls will demonstrate in the culinary talent show, produced by RTVE in collaboration with Shine Iberia, all the culinary knowledge acquired from their fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers, to set the bar high. The new generation of mini chefs will once again surprise viewers with their spontaneity, their love of cooking and their camaraderie in what is the 25th edition of ‘MasterChef’ in Spain.
Tests with a lot of history
The kitchens will be filled with history like never before. The minichefs will travel to ancient Egypt where they will meet Tutankhamun and Cleopatra, they will go through the Middle Ages to visit its castles and they will get to know the samurai culture in depth.
In addition, sport will once again take centre stage with a visit to the Juan Carlos Ferrero Tennis Academy in Villena, Alicante. The young hopefuls will also enjoy the adrenaline and fun of Port Aventura, cook in the unique location of Lake Sanabria and visit the ‘Compartir’ restaurant in Cadaqués.
Among the great challenges, they will face incredible desserts, prepare various healthy and energetic menus, work with fruit, have to prepare complex avant-garde cuisine menus, take part in blind tastings and cook like their ancestors without being able to use modern-day utensils and technology.
To support and advise the contestants, some of the stars of previous editions will return to the ‘MasterChef’ kitchens: Josie and Florentino Fernández (finalists of ‘MasterChef Celebrity 5’), Juanma Castaño, Miki Nadal and David Bustamante (winners and finalist of ‘MasterChef Celebrity 6’), Ana Iglesias (winner of ‘MasterChef 8’), Arnau, Jiaping and Ofelia (winner and aspirants of ‘MasterChef 9’), Henar, Javier and Aurora (finalists and winner of ‘MasterChef Junior 8’).
Prestigious chefs will share some of their gastronomic tricks: Martin Berasategui (12 stars), Eneko Atxa (5 stars), Oriol Castro (2 stars), Mateu Casañas (2 stars), and Eduard Xatruch (2 stars), the prestigious confectioner Jordi Bordás or the master baker Jordi Morera.
