Synopsis
In the 21st century, material goods dominate our lives, we are dependent on everything, from smartphones, to cars, from clothes to shoes. They started out as objects that make our lives easier, but we have become slaves to materialism. How many of these things do we really need? If we had to go back to basics, what would we really miss? Would we be miserable and unable to function, or would we discover that life could be simpler and happier? TVI and Shine Iberia are producing a social experience that will follow the lives of several participants – and their companions – in an adventure where the protagonists will say goodbye to all their material possessions. Everything in their homes will be locked in a container and over the course of several days, each participant will only be able to retrieve one object per day. What would be the first object you would retrieve? And the second? And the third? What is really important to you? During the recording of ‘Starting from Zero’ we will follow several stories of people who decided to participate in this unprecedented social experience, in which they must hand over all their goods and live for 10 days according to these main rules-All goods must be removed from each participant’s home and stored in a container;-Participants can only retrieve one object per day;-Participants can only bring into their homes what they “rescue” from their container, with the exception of food and heating material.Every day, participants will be forced to make difficult decisions to decide what is truly important. As the days go by, participants will rebuild their lives little by little and choose only those goods that are truly essential for their lives. When the 10 days of the experience are over, participants will receive the keys to the containers and recover all their belongings. After two intense weeks of challenges, sacrifices and self-discovery, will we notice any changes in lifestyle? Or will they be desperate to get their old lives back as quickly as possible?
