“Generación Click” is a four-episode documentary series that delves into the consequences of living in a world dominated by screens.

The series “Generación Porno” succeeded in stirring consciences, putting the spotlight on a very serious problem in our society, that of our young people and their premature and unfiltered access to sex through technology. Shine Iberia’s documentary series already demonstrated the brutal power that the Internet exerts over the minds of teenagers. However, its influence goes beyond their sexuality, social behaviour and personal relationships; access to adult content directly affects the mental health of our young people.

There is strong scientific evidence that confirms that all these mental problems are a direct consequence of the abuse of social media, and the type of content that children face on a daily basis seriously damages their mental health. Even so, we have asked teenagers, and their response has been unanimous: social networks are destroying their lives. How? Why? They themselves are going to explain it to us in “Generación Click”.

The documentary series features candid dialogues between parents and children about the devastating impact of social networks on mental health, the invisible wounds of cyberbullying and the distorted body perception caused by digital filters. Children, through sincere and moving testimonies, confess to their parents the harmful effects they are experiencing after abusive use of the internet and social networks: dangerous content, harmful friendships, violent behaviour, deadly advice… This is the reality of their virtual world. Parents, for their part, see for the first time and directly the dangers their children face at the click of a button.

The families involved, through educational workshops, interviews with professionals, therapies where depression and addictions triggered by internet abuse are treated, will understand the essential keys to protect themselves from the dangers hidden behind the screens.

The series includes testimonies from experts, psychologists, doctors, members of law enforcement agencies, former addicts and victims. These voices will also offer the viewer a clear and profound vision of the magnitude of the problem facing our society, a reality that we must all address because it is putting the mental health of an entire generation at risk.

In each of the four episodes of the documentary series, a specific issue among young people is addressed. These issues are addressed through advice, and options for dealing with them are provided. The solution is simpler than we imagine, and it starts in our homes.

“Generación Click” addresses a critical issue by raising awareness of the serious situation related to young people’s access to certain online content. The proposal to revise jurisprudence to restrict access to such content and limit consumption times is relevant and essential. In addition, the banning of websites with sensitive material, such as suicide or self-harm, is a necessary measure to protect young people. In short, ‘Click Generation’ proposes concrete solutions to a problem that requires urgent action.
