Synopsis

With Luísa Villar, face of the MESALUISA project, we take a trip to the past of Portuguese cuisine in a relaxed, real way, with reinventions and tips accessible to anyone who enjoys cooking and who doesn’t look for tricks to surprise at the table. In each episode, Luísa and the viewers will face a different challenge: together they will interpret and follow recipes from old books. They will adapt them to today, bridge the gap between the past and present of the kitchen and add current and important themes such as sustainability, food waste, reuse, appreciation of national products and much more. Recipes from several books will be the basis for creating a complete menu that our hostess will serve to a special guest every week. During these meals, Luísa, the guests and all spectators are delighted with unique flavors and the sharing of stories and surprises as a side dish. By choosing the recipes and going to the market where the best ingredients will be purchased, the presenter introduces themes and curiosities about the eating habits of the Portuguese, presents her favorite products and sometimes makes known the most charismatic figures on the market that they bring. to us the best of fresh products. After buying everything she needs, she heads to the kitchen with her special recipe book and begins interpreting and preparing the recipes. The arrival of guests takes place during finishing and plating and the meal will be marked by a conversation, which will provide viewers with more details about these illustrious guests, but which could also be unique moments for the protagonists.
