Shine Iberia was founded in 2012 with the aim of producing major television programmes for Spain and Portugal, originals and adaptations of Shine Group and third-party formats. Directed by Macarena Rey, it is one of the leading production companies on the Iberian Peninsula with a very broad and diverse catalogue of entertainment programmes, specialising in the development of successful talent. It also produces fiction, such as “Bosé”, the series based on the life of the artist Miguel Bosé and documentary series such as “Bosé reborn”, “Alaska Revealed” and factual formats such as “Generación Porno”, “Generación Click” and “Genderless”. Shine Iberia is in charge of successful programmes in Spain and Portugal, such as “MasterChef”, “MasterChef Celebrity”, “MasterChef Junior”, “HairStyle”, “Cover Night”, “Cinco Tenedores”, “Maestros de la Costura”, ‘Prodigios, Anything Goes’, “Lego Masters”, “MasterChef Portugal”, “The Voice Portugal”, “All Together Now”, “Married at First Sight”, “Hell’s Kitchen”, “The Wishing Tree”, “I love Portugal” and “Kitchen Nightmares”. Birth of Shine Iberia with headquarters in Madrid.
Birth of Shine Iberia in Lisbon.
The first season of MasterChef España is broadcasted.
Shine Iberia produces its first fiction series: ‘Prim: el asesino de la calle del Turco’.
In April 2015, Shine Iberia seals its merger with Endemol, becoming a new television production giant.
In February 2018, the first season of Maestros de la Costura is broadcasted, reinforcing the production of talent shows.
In July 2020, Endemol Shine Group is acquired by Banijay, creating the world’s largest content production and distribution company across 22 countries with more than 122 production companies and a multi-genre catalogue of over 100,000 hours of outstanding original programming.
MasterChef Spain celebrates its 200th programme.
The international production of the fiction series ‘BOSÉ’ marks Shine Iberia’s presence in the Latin American market.
