Fifteen new celebrities embark on the culinary adventure of their lives: the eighth edition of ‘MasterChef Celebrity,’ premiering on La 1 this Thursday, September 7. The talent show, produced by RTVE in collaboration with Shine Iberia, will test their kitchen skills, adaptability to unforeseen situations, and dexterity in creating exquisite dishes against the clock.

Jorge and César Cadaval (Los Morancos), Blanca Romero, Álvaro Escassi, Sandra Gago, Eduardo Casanova, Toñi Moreno, Jorge Sanz, Laura Londoño, Jesulín de Ubrique, Tania Llasera, Miguel Diosdado, Genoveva Casanova, Daniel Illescas, and Palito Dominguín will face the challenge of winning over the palates of the most demanding judges on television: Pepe Rodríguez, Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, and Jordi Cruz.

The contestants and the judges presented the eighth edition of the show at the FesTVal de Vitoria, an event hosted by RTVE’s Director of Communication and Participation, María Eizaguirre, who highlighted the impressive audience figures from the previous edition, closing with over two million viewers and a 15.4% share, reaching almost 4.6 million people in its final duel. Now, with ‘MasterChef Celebrity 8,’ we will once again enjoy, laugh, and experience great moments.

For Ana María Bordas, Director of Originals at RTVE, ‘MasterChef Celebrity’ is part of the “commitment by RTVE’s General Content direction to prime time entertainment formats, powerful, of public service, and that allow us to compete.”

Macarena Rey, CEO of Shine Iberia and executive producer of ‘MasterChef,’ stated that this is “the edition with the best atmosphere and energy that we have produced.” The judges praised the casting, “a very diverse group of people, put them in a room, and magic happens,” as Samantha emphasized. The external locations of the edition, from the palace of the series ‘La Promesa’ to Puy du Fou, Formentera, or Ceuta, were highlighted by Jordi and Pepe.

New Challenges in ‘MasterChef Celebrity 8’: The celebrities will face iconic challenges such as thefts, battles, or following the chef, as well as new challenges: preparing authentic pizza dough using the Italian tossing technique, replicating a typical dish from another country by matching the ingredients that are part of the gastronomic culture of that place, or facing the ‘MasterChef’ switchboard with some comical operators who have the keys to the recipes to be prepared. There will also be a bingo challenge, where they must cook with the ingredients on their bingo cards.

In the outdoor challenges, ‘MasterChef Celebrity’ travels to Ceuta for the first time to cook at the Maritime Park of the Mediterranean. Additionally, the celebrities will prepare a menu consisting of traditional dishes from the Golden Age designed by chef Carlos Maldonado at Puy Du Fou in Toledo, cook for pilgrims on the Camino Lebaniego in San Vicente de la Barquera, and visit the palace of the Marqueses de Luján to offer a gastronomic feast to the team of ‘La Promesa,’ La 1’s leading afternoon series. They will also celebrate the return of the musical ‘Mamma Mia’ to Madrid’s Gran Vía, visit La Pérgola del Mediterráneo, the restaurant founded by Antonio Banderas, and prepare a sustainable menu without fire, grills, or inductions in the Mediterranean Forest.

Winner’s Prize and Special Guests: The winner will receive a prize of €75,000, to be donated to a charitable cause, and the trophy accrediting them as the eighth ‘MasterChef Celebrity.’ Both the winner and the runner-up will enjoy a weekend cooking course at the Basque Culinary Center in San Sebastián. In each episode, the best performer in one of the challenges will win €4,000, which will be donated to the NGO of their choice.

Special guests for this season include actor Antonio Banderas, former Tricicle member Carles Sans, comedians Juan Dávila and Leo Harlem, showman Carlos Latre, comedian Sergio Fernández (El Monaguillo), and the cast of ‘La Promesa.’ Additionally, past winners and participants from previous editions of ‘MasterChef’ and ‘MasterChef Celebrity’ will return to share their experiences and insights.

The celebrities must be prepared to cook with all kinds of surprises and replicate dishes from top national and international chefs, including Nandu Jubany, Oriol Castro, Jesús Sánchez, Jordi Roca, Toño Pérez, Paco Morales, Alex Atala, Luis Veira, Lucía Freitas, Andrea Tumbarello, Juan Sahuquillo, Javier Sanz, Carlos Maldonado, Hugo Ruiz, Javi Estévez, Yong Wu Nagahira, Óscar Calleja, Pasqualino Barbasso, Nino Redruello, Jessica Déniz, Cristina Oria, and David Pallás
